This is our accurate reproduction of the dumb irons found on 1948-51 Series 1, 80” Land Rovers with the narrow 1.5” leaf springs.

We fabricate the LH (passenger’s side) and RH (driver’s side) for both the early type (with fish plates for the front bumper) and the later type (without fishplates) so please select the part you need from the drop-down menu.

Our dumb irons are 400mm long, taking them past the front crossmember giving you maximum flexibility around where to locate the join. Our parts share the exact dimensions of the original chassis rail regardless of where they are cut and joined. The final result will be seamless and will not leave you with a step in the chassis rail.

Engineering requirements change from region to region so please contact a suitably qualified engineer to discuss your plans before you commence any chassis repairs.

Fabricated in our workshop they ship in red oxide primer.
